Access Points to Confidence - #3 Do More of What You Want

During her time as a palliative care nurse, Bronnie Ware shared deeply personal conversations with her patients.

Facing their last days, she heard their dying wishes, reflections and regrets and turned these stories and insights into her book – The Five Regrets of the Dying.

After reflecting on the conversations she’d had, she found the number one regret of the dying was:

I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

Being true to yourself is important - and it takes effort.

One of the ways to nudge toward it is to spend more time thinking about, and doing, what you want.

Doing what you want means:

1.  Being clear on what lights you up.

2.  Taking action to devote more time doing it.

Below are a few questions to help stimulate your thinking in each of these areas.

Knowing what you want

1.  If you could do anything on the weekend, how would you spend your time?

2.  If you were in your ideal job or role, what would it be?

3.  If you were surrounded by people you love to spend time with, how would you describe them?

Taking action toward it

1.  What are you doing now that you don’t need to? Think about what you can you delete, or delegate, from your to-do list.

2.  Where in your day/week/month do you have time you could schedule to immerse yourself in activities and projects that set your soul on fire?

3.  What’s something you love you could do today, that takes less than 10 minutes? Schedule that in, or stop reading this newsletter, and do it now!

To access greater confidence and in turn, build agency behind your voice, spend more time doing what you want.
