The business and provenance of food is undergoing rapid change. Increasing consumer expectations linked to the way food is grown, produced and consumed continue to put increasing pressure on companies to innovate, engage and demonstrate greater responsibility and integrity.
While the producers of many of the products that once were the backbone of consumer’s kitchen pantries are experiencing a deceleration in profit and growth, brands that are more closely connected to, and reflective of, consumers changing values are growing on average at 10 times the rate.
While we often hear it’s size and agility that differentiates winners from losers, it’s being meaningful that matters most. Meaningful brands outperform the stock market by double over a ten year period, achieve 9 times the share of a consumers wallet, and are more likely to reach critical business KPI’s.
