Access Points to Confidence - #1 Connect with Yourself

In this first blog post for 2024, I’m kicking off a series of insights called Access Points to Confidence.

As you may be aware, I passionately believe your voice matters - that what you have to say makes a difference, to yourself, to those around you and to the world at large.

To speak up, create ease to share more of yourself and to get more of what you want and need, confidence is key.

Knowing you can rely on yourself means feeling more certain and with that, you become more stimulated to take action.

Confidence can be an elusive attribute however, and one you may find yourself saying you want more of.

You might see someone putting themselves forward, getting what they want, taking on a new project and say to yourself, “If only I was that confident, I’d do the same thing.”

The next question then becomes:

“How do I access that?”

Access is about inroads and openings.

If you’re looking to change something it helps to know the first, smallest, available access point through which you can enter.

From this perspective, for the next 12 weeks I’ll be sharing 12 Access Points to Confidence. The first Access Point is below. The copy is short, to make it more ‘access’-ible and if you’d like more, click through to the video.

Enjoy and as always, please let me know how this lands with you.

Access Point #1 - Connect with Yourself

Connection to yourself is essential for creating an inner feeling of grounded strength. The stronger you are, the more confident you feel.

Glennon Doyle is her book Untamed said:

If I want to rise, I need to sink first.

You can think of ‘rising’ like elevating into more of your confident self and ‘sinking’ like turning inwards, tuning into the language of your heart, connecting to the wisdom within.

With this clarity, you’ll know with greater confidence, what to do or say next.

Below are three reflection questions to help access self-connection.

Ask these often and when you do, read them one at a time. Put your hands on your heart, close your eyes and listen for the answer.

  1. What do I need right now?

  2. Why am I feeling this way?

  3. Is what I am doing setting my soul on fire?

Accessing greater self-confidence starts with building self-connection.
